A combination of betaine hydrochloride (assists with hydrochloric acid) and pepsin (a protein digesting enzyme) found in stomach juices.
Nutrigold's Betaine & Pepsin provides 200mg Betaine Hydrochloride and 20mg (300NF) pepsin per capsule in a hypoallergenic form.

Hydrochloric acid has a number of important functions in the stomach including:
- Supporting digestion of food
- Assisting absorption of minerals such as zinc, iron, magnesium and calcium
- Neutralising pathogenic bacteria from food and preventing entry into the digestive tract
As we age, as well as at times of stress or illness, hydrochloric acid production in the stomach may decline, impacting digestive function.
Additional information
Use: 3 capsules daily (1 with each main meal) or as directed by a practitioner.
Storage: Store in a cool dry place.
Cautions: Keep out of reach of children. Do not exceed the daily recommended intake. This product should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet. Do not use if lid seal is broken. This product is not suitable if you are pregnant or breast-feeding or suffer from inflammation or ulceration of the digestive tract (e.g. gastritis or ulcerative colitis).
